Why I Started the Big Shelf Business As noted on the Home page, I have been in business with the Big Shelf for 14 years. I am an entrepreneur at heart, among other things, so when another business I had tried went into the tank, I started this one. I was working with a friend for a few days in a garage and said to myself, "I think I see a business in here." It has been a great business in a number of ways: I have helped hundreds of homeowners with their storage needs. I have met many great people and their children and pets. I have become a writer as well as I discovered that a specific customer profile purchases the Big Shelf and no one else. I call these people the IMPACTS. I wrote a marketing book about the IMPACTS five years ago and have recently completed another book, The IMPACTS Dynamic. It delves into the dynamic that is driving human civilization. The Big Shelf business, while simple in concept, has taught me more than anything else in my life. It has been an incredibly valuable 14 years.
