Note: The BIG SHELF is a great addition to the garage, but it is not worth a serious injury. When you are storing items, use extreme caution. Always have someone hold the ladder. It only takes a second for an accident to happen. The BIG SHELF is professionally engineered for strength, but do not overload it. Always place the heaviest items close to the wall.
Q Is your company a franchise? It has the professional look and feel of one. A I get that question often but no, it is not a franchise. I started it myself 14 years ago and I have intentionally kept it a one-man operation.
Q Why should we build the BIG SHELF in our garage instead of renting from a storage center? A Convenience, cost, security, increased home value.
Q What exactly is the BIG SHELF, and what makes it different from other shelves? A The BIG SHELF is usually built about seven or eight feet above the floor, and is three feet deep, or less. It is professionally engineered to hold 20 lbs./sq. ft. It is supported from above (with diagonal steel braces) instead of below - to give you more freedom of movement. With the BIG SHELF, your valuables are only a few steps away in your own garage - not across town.
Q Where do you build the BIG SHELF, and how do I access it? A The BIG SHELF can be built on one, two, three, or all walls in your garage. We build to suit your needs. Generally, an eight-foot stepladder is all you need for access. Be sure your stepladder is sturdy and of high quality, whether wood, aluminum or fiberglass. Make sure someone is always holding the stepladder when you or anyone else is on it.
Q What's the first step? A Just call us at (919) 303-3080, and we'll set up an appointment to give you a free estimate, or we'll give you a ballpark estimate over the phone.
Q If we sign a contract and schedule construction, will you show up when you say you will? We've had some bad experiences. A We have always started on the day scheduled. We'll give you a long list of references.
Q What is your experience in construction? A We have more than 30 years experience in home improvement in the Triangle area.
